Good riddance 2010!!

I have really enjoyed reading everyone's different twists on New Year's resolutions. I think the basic resolutions are just too much pressure and can set you up to feel poorly about yourself. I love when people make them into their own style and what works for them, because that is the point right, you want it to work!
(stolen from My Owl Barn cause it was just so darn cute!)

Well, I have decided that I am going to be more present in the moment. (Oh the irony of a plan to be more present!) I tend to be a worrier, to the point of even being detrimental to what i am worrying about! The best way I have found to ground myself in the present is through yoga. So yay!, my "non-resolution" resolution means that I get to make a point to practice more yoga! I am in this weird rotation of going to class 4-5 days one week and then only once the next week. My schedule is a bit odd, but I know I can be more regular. On the weeks where I don't get in enough, I find myself feeling chaotic and worrying more. So, there it is right? Simple solution!

What are your resolutions, non-resolutions, promises, goals, whatever you call them? I really love hearing how people interpret this New Year's resolution tradition and what aspirations we all have for 2011!

My goals for 2011 are to run a 1/2 marathon in less than 2 hours and to pass this Finance exam that I will take in June which will be really tough...

Other than that, I want to try to stop texting while driving... I am really bad about that.

And lastly, I want to stop looking back so much and set my sights ahead. 2010 will go down as one of the worst years of my life. I am sure there are things i could learn from it by lookign back, but I am not at the point where it's healthy to look back just yet. So I am slamming the door shut on it, and maybe down the road I will look back on the events of the year. But not for awhile...

Happy new year!

The only "goal" I am saying out loud so far (I know), is to run a half marathon. And unlike Lisa up there, I have no set time :)
For some reason, a LOT of people I know have said 2010 was one of the worst years they've had, and I have to say I'm right with them. Definitely my worst year, but in the scheme of things?? Not really so bad. I'm so grateful for what I have and that I have the opportunity to begin again in 2011. Bring it.

I said no resolutions but still when I wrote things down it sounded like resolutions.
All I know is that I refuse to go to the gym for the next month since EVERYONE will be there. I guess that's my resolution. :)
